Exploring Dental Education Collaboration: My Visit to the University of Buenos Aires
I'd like to share with you a truly enriching experience I had recently at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). As some of you may know, collaboration between universities is a fundamental part of our philosophy at the Faculty of Dentistry at Universidad Finis Terrae, and we are always eager to foster it whenever the opportunity arises.
The Invitation
This autumn, I received an official invitation from the Faculty of Dentistry at UBA, a prestigious educational institution in Argentina. It was an honour to be welcomed by Prof. Dr. Anibal Capusotto, Professor of Restorative Dentistry for Adults at UBA, at their headquarters in the beautiful Recoleta neighbourhood in Buenos Aires. The view from the faculty was stunning, and I felt very fortunate to be there.
Exploring UBA's Facilities
During my visit, Dr. Capusotto and I had the opportunity to hold a meeting where we shared our experiences and knowledge about dental education. We explored the educational project of the Argentinian faculty and discussed how we approach training at our institution. It was a valuable exchange that I am confident will enrich our teaching practices in the future.
Meeting distinguished Academics
In addition to my meeting with Dr. Capusotto, I had the privilege of conversing with other distinguished academics, such as Prof. Dr. Lisandro Cauzillo and Prof. Dr. María Marta Fernández. We visited various academic and clinical facilities, including the Department of Imaging, the Endodontics Department, surgery and implantology areas, and the impressive Main Lecture Theatre, which houses a remarkable work by the Argentine painter Benito Quinquela Martín.
During my visit, I also had the opportunity to meet with the Dean, Prof. Dr. Pablo Rodriguez, with whom I discussed the significant role of our Office of Dental Education (ODEO) at Universidad Finis Terrae in faculty development. We talked about the continuing education in teaching that we offer through ODEO and how we can continue to improve it.
One of the highlights of my visit was the meeting with Prof. Dr. Noemí Bordoni, where we explored current topics related to education and innovation in dentistry. It was an inspiring dialogue that left me with many new ideas.
At the end of my visit, Dr. Capusotto presented me with the commemorative medal for the 200th anniversary of the University of Buenos Aires, a gesture I deeply appreciate and that further strengthens our collaborative ties.
Future Collaboration in Dental Education

Explorando la Colaboración en la Educación Dental: Mi Visita a la Universidad de Buenos Aires
Me gustaría compartir contigo una experiencia verdaderamente enriquecedora que tuve recientemente en la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA). Como algunos de ustedes pueden saber, la colaboración entre universidades es una parte fundamental de nuestra filosofía en la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad Finis Terrae, y siempre estamos ansiosos por fomentarla cuando surge la oportunidad.
La Invitación
Este otoño, recibí una invitación oficial de la Facultad de Odontología de la UBA, una prestigiosa institución educativa en Argentina. Fue un honor ser recibido por el Prof. Dr. Anibal Capusotto, Profesor de Odontología Integral para Adultos en la UBA, en su sede en el hermoso barrio de Recoleta en Buenos Aires. La vista desde la facultad era impresionante, y me sentí muy afortunado de estar allí.
Explorando las Instalaciones de la UBA
Durante mi visita, el Dr. Capusotto y yo tuvimos la oportunidad de celebrar una reunión en la que compartimos nuestras experiencias y conocimientos sobre la educación dental. Exploramos el proyecto educativo de la facultad argentina y discutimos cómo abordamos la formación en nuestra institución. Fue un intercambio valioso que estoy seguro enriquecerá nuestras prácticas docentes en el futuro.
Reunión con Académicos Distinguidos
Además de mi reunión con el Dr. Capusotto, tuve el privilegio de conversar con otros distinguidos académicos, como el Prof. Dr. Lisandro Cauzillo y la Prof. Dra. María Marta Fernández. Visitamos varias instalaciones académicas y clínicas, incluyendo el Departamento de Imagenología, la Cátedra de Endodoncia, las áreas de cirugía e implantología y el impresionante Gran Salón, que alberga una destacada obra del pintor argentino Benito Quinquela Martín.
Durante mi visita, también tuve la oportunidad de reunirme con el Decano, el Prof. Dr. Pablo Rodríguez, con quien discutí el papel significativo de nuestra Oficina de Educación Dental (ODEO) en la Universidad Finis Terrae en el desarrollo de la facultad. Hablamos sobre la educación continua en la enseñanza que ofrecemos a través de ODEO y cómo podemos seguir mejorándola.
Uno de los momentos destacados de mi visita fue la reunión con la Prof. Dra. Noemí Bordoni, en la que exploramos temas actuales relacionados con la educación e innovación en odontología. Fue un diálogo inspirador que me dejó con muchas ideas nuevas.
Al final de mi visita, el Dr. Capusotto me entregó la medalla conmemorativa del 200 aniversario de la Universidad de Buenos Aires, un gesto que aprecio profundamente y que fortalece aún más nuestros lazos de colaboración.

Quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para extender una cálida invitación a nuestros colegas en Argentina y alrededor del mundo.
